Shiho Fukuhara created the Tristero *rkiv - an archive of the unwanted digital material (image, sound, video, text and others) uploaded by subscribers to the Tristero* website over the six months that the site was active.
A representation of each submitted ‘junk’ file was created using information retrieved from the Tristero database. Each file was represented by an abstract graphic form. Files were divided on a weekly basis, so the proportion of the number of uploads was shown by week. The abstract forms were coloured according to the Tristero member ID, and shaped according to the file type. More information about a particular file was available by clicking on each graphic form. Double-clicking allowed the user to access a list of other files that were uploaded by the same person. Clicking on this list allowed the user to access the original “junk’ file.
